I can totally identify with you. When my DD was that age, she actually flipped her dresser, pulled her mattress off her bed, and threw a tantrum like you have never seen (ok, it sounds like you may be able to identify). I can promise you that they do end. DH used to make me feel better by telling me that if she could be that defiant to us, her parents, imagine how she'll respond to a drug dealer or some other bad person. Fortunately, I can't tell you if his theory holds true, but she pretty much speaks her mind at 13. Know that you are not alone. If you want any hints on how we handled it, feel free to email me.
